Working method during explosive remnants of war detection

Uxo Drill is your partner in horizontal drilling with explosive remnants of war detection during construction and infrastructure projects in suspect areas. We unburden you from beginning to end with pilot-guided auger drilling that includes ordnance detection: your project is carried out safely with minimal disruption to the area.

Your project

Are you laying underground pipes in suspect areas with possible ordnance underground? Does laying the pipes require trenchless methods, for example for drilling under structures or infrastructure, such as roads, railways, or waterways? If yes, Uxo Drill is the answer for drilling that combines explosive remnants of war detection.

Release

After completing the drilling with ordnance detection with Uxo Drill, you will receive a recognised release from us.

Horizontal drilling and detection

Uxo Drill will carry out the drilling including ordnance detection with our innovative Uxo Drill pilot with a detection system in the drill head. With this innovative detection system, the ordnance removal experts of AVG Explosieven Opsporing Nederland can make optimum use of their expertise in detecting explosive remnants of war during horizontal pilot-guided drilling by Kouwenberg Infra.

Explosive remnants of war detection

In many cases, we do not find ordnance during drilling. When that happens, Uxo Drill guarantees an optimum turnaround time for your project.  If we do observe explosive remnants of war during the drilling, there are a number of possible scenarios:

  • The object is on the path of the drilling. We stop the drilling.
  • The object is outside the path of the drilling and outside the path of the future pipe. We continue the drilling and lay the final pipe.
  • The object is outside the path of the drilling but on the path of the future pipe. We continue the drilling and after the drilling we determine the location and the size of the object. In this situation, our ordnance experts enter into close consultation with the client, permit issuer, government bodies, and other stakeholders to determine the possible solutions. They could include careful removal of the ordnance, carrying out a new horizontal drilling, or laying the final pipe under specific measures.
